What does “Chartered Financial Planner” mean?

Chartered status is awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and is considered the “gold standard” financial planning accreditation. Chartered status is a symbol of technical competence and signifies a public commitment to upholding professional standards and adhering to a professional Code of Ethics.

About Jordan

Jordan joined Chesterton House in March 2017 as a trainee financial planner and has since earned his Chartered Financial Planner status. He now serves as one of our Financial Planning Managers, coaching and supporting our Financial Planner team. Jordan is currently working towards becoming a Certified Financial Planner.

He has a talent for explaining complex financial planning in clear, straightforward terms, helping clients feel confident and fully informed about their financial plans. Jordan supports clients across the East Midlands with retirement planning, tax planning, legacy and estate planning, business financial planning, and investment strategies.

Qualifications

Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning
The RQF Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning meets the FCA’s qualification requirements for retail investment advisers, developing core technical knowledge and financial planning capabilities across six core areas.
Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning
This qualification enables professional advisers to develop specialist planning capabilities and covers topics like personal tax and trust, business financial, pension and investment planning.
CertPFS (DM) (Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management)
The RQF Level 4 Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management develops the wealth strategy and portfolio management skills required for effective discretionary investment management. The qualification satisfies the FCA appropriate qualification requirements for this class of business.
Certificate in Securities Advice and Dealing
This certificate satisfies the FCA appropriate qualification requirement for those advising or dealing in securities, developing in-depth knowledge of investment and securities products, the UK taxation system and considerations for appropriate investment recommendations.
Level 4 Award in Pensions Update
This single unit qualification develops and tests knowledge of pension reforms and how they impact at-retirement advice.
