A Great Night at Our Summer BBQ 2026

On Wednesday 24th June, we welcomed clients and friends to The Hall Barns at Prestwold for our annual summer BBQ. We had a wonderful evening with great food, music and great company.

The weather delivered (perhaps a little too well)

Fortunately, The Hall Barns has plenty of shaded areas, and  a light breeze coming across the countryside made the heat feel more manageable. Despite the heat, guests made the most of the beautiful surroundings, and the atmosphere from the moment people arrived was friendly and relaxed.

Great food, great company

The food was a highlight, and we received lots of comments about how delicious the BBQ was. Guests chose from Cumberland sausages, gourmet beef burgers and hickory BBQ chicken, with a selection of side dishes as well. For dessert, we were treated to a mouthwatering Eton Mess and triple chocolate brown sugar brownies, as well as frozen treats from the ice cream tricycle. Choosing toppings proved harder than expected!

The evening continued as the sun set, with lively conversation and plenty of catching up with old friends and new ones.

Your generosity made a real difference

As with previous years, guests had the opportunity to make a donation to the Chesterton House Foundation when booking tickets for the event. We’re delighted to share that last night’s total came to £1,541.97 — a wonderful result, and a real reflection of the generosity of everyone who attended.

Each quarter, our Trustees review grant applications from local charities and community organisations, and decide where the money goes. Every pound raised goes directly to those grants. Since we began three years ago, we’ve awarded £43,602.50 to 42 different causes. You can read about some of the organisations we’ve supported on our blog.

Get involved

If the Foundation’s work resonates with you and you’d like to know more, or to get involved as a Trustee, we’d love to hear from you.
