Supporting Social Ventures in Our Community

We believe that when money is planned well, it can do more than just grow — it can support meaningful ideas, create real change, and help good things happen. So when the chance came to get behind an event celebrating exactly that, it was an easy decision.

We’re delighted to be sponsoring Pitch your Social Venture in Loughborough this March – an afternoon dedicated to big ideas, bold thinking, and businesses built with purpose at their heart.

Taking place on Thursday 12th March, the event brings together local entrepreneurs, community organisations, and social innovators who have taken part in the Social Venture Builder workshops. Each participant pitches an idea that combines commercial viability with genuine social impact — sharing not just what they want to build, but why it matters.

Pitch Your Social Venture Event PosterWhat is Pitch Your Social Venture?

Organised and hosted by Tobias Gould from the Community Enterprise Engine, Pitch Your Social Venture is a fast-paced pitching event where ideas are put to the test.

The format is deliberately focused. Each individual or team has five minutes, three slides, and one chance to bring their ideas to life.

Pitches are scored on presentation and storytelling, social impact, and financial viability.

It’s a chance to celebrate creativity, learn from each other, and support ventures that are genuinely trying to make a difference in the local community.

Why is Chesterton House involved?

At Chesterton House, we help people get their entire financial house in order so they can live a great life. That means understanding what truly matters — and helping people use their resources to support the things and people they care about.

Social ventures are a brilliant example of that thinking in action: purposeful, values-driven, and focused on building something that lasts.

We’re proud to be sponsoring the £600 seed funding prize for the winning venture and joining the judging panel to bring financial planning expertise to the decision-making process.

A great idea needs more than passion to succeed. Having solid financial thinking behind it from the start makes a real difference — and that’s exactly what this event is about.

A celebration of ideas, energy, and impact

Pitch events are always something special. There’s something genuinely exciting about watching people stand up and back their ideas in front of a room full of supporters. The creativity, ambition, and energy on display make occasions like this inspiring — whether you’re pitching or simply there to cheer people on.

It’s also a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, learn more about social enterprise, and build new connections across the Charnwood community.
