Team Day 2025: Lift-Off at the National Space Centre 🚀

On Tuesday 10th June, we swapped our desks for rockets and mission control as the Chesterton House team headed to the National Space Centre in Leicester for our 2025 Team Day — and it turned out to be a fantastic mix of inspiration, fun and getting to know each other better.

Set among rockets, space shuttles and mission control pods, the day wasn’t about spreadsheets or strategy meetings. Instead, it focused on something even more important: building stronger relationships with each other, across our teams, and with our wider professional network.

We were especially pleased to be joined by members of the Chesterton House Accounting Services team and colleagues from Rothera Bray Solicitors — a fantastic way to reflect the growing collaboration between our firms and our shared commitment to giving clients a truly holistic service.

🌌 To the Stars: Starting with Apollo 11

We launched the day in the Planetarium — an awe-inspiring space (pun very much intended) that encouraged us to zoom out and think big.

Our opening session took inspiration from Apollo 11, using the moon landing as a metaphor for teamwork, ambition, and long-term planning. Andy shared the parallels between preparing for the moon landing with the journey we’ve been on as a business and WOW’d us with some eye-opening space stats, including how many transistors were used in Apollo 11 compared with how many there are in the latest Apple iPhone.

Amarjeet Singh, Partner at Chesterton House Accounting Services, then shared his vision for the Accounting team and the exciting opportunities in working more closely with Financial Planning and Rothera Bray. Rachel Kitching Burrows, Managing Director, Chesterton House Financial Planning, followed with her perspective, highlighting the value of working together across teams to do our best work.

We also looked back to where we were ten years ago — and imagined where we might be ten years from now. The message was simple: this isn’t about individual stars. It’s about flying the mission together.

🎉 Celebrating Successes

Before moving on, we paused to celebrate what we’ve achieved over the past year with our Successes video — and what a year it’s been!

From exam passes and qualifications to personal milestones like Joe and Jordan’s epic fundraising challenges (and no fewer than six new Chesterton House babies!) it was great to take a moment to recognise how far we’ve come — both as a business and as individuals.

🧠 Getting to Know Each Other with ‘The Innerview’

Our next session, The Innerview, was all about connecting on a more personal level. Through a mix of thoughtful (and sometimes unexpected!) questions, we got a chance to hear about each other’s roles, motivations, and experiences. It was relaxed, meaningful, and a lovely reminder of the brilliant people we work with every day.

Refuelling and Exploring

After a well-earned coffee break (with rocket-fuelled biscuits, naturally), we had free time to explore the Space Centre. Whether learning about the planets, space travel, or the Earth itself, there was something to spark everyone’s curiosity.

🥗 Lunch and Light Touchdowns

Lunch gave us time to relax, chat, and digest (both the food and the morning sessions!). There was a real buzz in the room, and it was great to see conversations happening between people who don’t usually cross paths day to day.

🌪️ TetraStar Spaceport: A Hero’s Journey to Mars

In the afternoon, things took a fun twist with TetraStar Spaceport — an immersive team-building adventure set in the not-so-distant future. What started as a routine tourist cruise to Mars turned into a fast-paced rescue mission as we worked together to respond to a Martian dust storm and save the research lab.

It was a bit different, definitely a bit silly, and a lot of fun — and a great reminder of the power of teamwork under pressure.

🎥 Looking Ahead

We wrapped up back in the Planetarium with a short client presentation and a video outlining some of the future changes coming later this year. We’re excited to share more about these soon.

It was a grounding way to finish — reminding us that whether we’re talking about life on Earth or beyond it, everything comes down to people, purpose, and connection.

🌟 Until Next Time

Team Day 2025 was one to remember — not because of big announcements, but because of the time we took to talk, laugh, reflect, and reconnect.

Thanks to everyone who made it happen — and to all of you who came along, joined in, and made it such an enjoyable day. We’ve got an exciting journey ahead, and we’re so glad to be on it together.
